Match report Leamington 3's travelled to nearby Norton Lindsey and endured their 1st defeat of the season. Batting first on a good pitch Leamington mustered 216-5, which in hindsight was 20-30 runs short. After an excellent opening stand of 100 in the first 20 over of which Ainscow scored 46 and veteran Wilson 53 the second half of the innings meandered somewhat as Nortons slow left arm bowler stangled the innings with figures of 10-4-12-2. Notable other contributions came fron Dale 29, Cowan 32* and Ashmore 19*.
In reply Leamington got off to the perfect start with Jim Moreton removing one of Nortons openers in the 2nd over but two 50 run partnerships steadied the ship and eventually Norton reached thier target in the 44th over for the loss of 4 wkts. This was down to Nortons 5th wicket partnership of 116. The bowling left something to be desired with the evergreen Rob Grant and the returning James Cowan the only bowlers really posing any threat. A total of 23 wides did not help the cause, much improvement needed for next week.
