Match report Another poor batting performance condemed the 2's to a successive defeat and a spot at the bottom of the League table.
Batting first after winning the toss, Leamington made a steady but slow start on a very wet wicket. Having reached 103-3 with 13 overs left, a target of 180 was achievable. However wickets fell regularly and only 131-9 was reached after the 50 overs. Udit Talati (45), Jack Hawkes (29) and Chris Stearn (23*) the top scorers.
The Shrewsbury reply began swiftly but 3 quick wickets gave some hope, however a very assured innings from England under 15 star Ed Barnard (57*) ensured an easy victory by 6 wickets. All of the bowlers can hold their collective heads up...it is the batsmen who need to pull their socks up!!!!
