Match report The visitors to Arlington Avenue this week were Alcester & Ragley who on an overcast day were asked to bat first.

Leamington's opening attack of Matthew Davison & Gaurav Gandecha were put under early pressure from Alcester opener Coombs who made a quick fire 60, not without giving a few chances, before he was dismissed by returning slow bowler Wayne Killian. Alcester continued at a good pace with Leamington's bowlers lacking the usual control they have shown in previous weeks and finally finished their 45 overs 250-6. Pick of the bowlers was Killian who finished with 10-2-35-1.

Leamington openers Hawkes & Clarkson set themselves well and put on 63 for the opening wicket before Hawkes dragged on a wide half volley, much to his disgust. This brought together Clarkson and Ainscow who both continued their fine form from the previous week by putting on 130 for the 2nd wicket. Both men batted with authority and were particularly dismissive of any loose deliveries
before Ainscow departed for a well made 54. Clarkson continued to find the boundaries and was closing in on his century before he was bowled for 97. This left Liam Killian (30) Mark Davison 13 not out and Wayne Killian 8 not out to close the run chase out with 7 over remaining.

A great run chase kept the III's on course at the top of the table.
