Match report Leamington 1st XI continued their upturn in form with a vital 4 wicket win at Moseley.

Having won the toss, Leamington invited Moseley to bat with the home side making a steady start before Tom Warner (1-42) removed Shoaib with the score on 51. Grant Thornton (14-3-2-34) bowled a fantastic spell and soon bowled Chase to to take the score to 56-2. However, the introduction of Paul Rowe was the real turning point as Rowe rolled back the years to bowl a fast and hostile spell as he ripped through the middle order. Shabir (40), Pickering (35) and Awan (29) offered some resistance but the home side limped to 190 all out as Rowe picked up the wonderful figures of 6-37 off 16 overs. There were also 5 catches for 'keeper Lee Hopkins.

In reply, Leamington got off to an excellent start as Shahbaz Alam (28) and Mark Best (22) put on 56 for the first wicket before Pickering (2-17) removed the opening pair. Best fell with the score on 59 but David Bailey (14), Lee Hopkins (31) and Darrel Williams (18*) supported the excellent Simon Magill (48*) as Magill led his team to a much-deserved four wicket victory with the best part of seven overs remaining.
