Match report Leamington looked to experience to see them through their vital CHL Premier Division match with Alcester And Ragley, and it did not fail them. Set 166 to win they were wobbling when a second wicket fell at 32. At this point David Lord (38 not out) came out to join skipper Matt Dale (35) and their 80 run partnership laid the foundation for what, in the end, was an emphatic win. After Dale had been bowled by opposing skipper Capron, Lord kept watch as young Will Dixon bludgeoned the wilting Alcester attack for 40 of the required 50 runs ending the innings with an impressive six. The Alcester innings had never recover from loosing four middle order wickets in just three overs. David Swinburn (33) steadied the ship in a 54 run partnership with his son Oliver (26). After both had been dismissed the tail wagged with 40 useful runs. Leamington's main wicket takers were Tim Smedley (4 - 20) and Lord (3 - 26). this win ensures Leamington's Premier Division safety, but leaves Alcester needing on more win from their final two games ensure their survival.
