Match report The Second string have found themselves placed in Division 2 of the Warwickshire County Cricket League following the dissolution of Second XI cricket in the Birmingham League. They made the short trip to Earlswood and asked the hosts to bat first on a slow wicket. Opening bowler Tom Warner enjoyed the new surroundings taking three quick wickets with only eleven runs on the board. Earlswood regrouped around Joe Pietrafesa who made a patient 48, and Arron Snipe a cameo of 25. Spa took wickets at regular intervals and even though Earlswood's tail wagged, they could only register 145 for 9 in their 50 overs. Warner took 4 for 24 with two wickets apiece for Nick Couzens and James Silk.

Batting had been difficult for Earlswood and it was no easier after tea for Leamington as the first three batsmen failed to reach double figures. It took a breezy 38 from Ibi Afzal and a captain's innings of 31 from Jack Hawkes to ease Leamington towards their target. A couple of lusty blows from Jason Butler saw Leamington over the line on 148 for 7 with three overs to spare
