Just wanted to update members following the latest Coronavirus advice to the public about now being able to participate in certain sports. In relation to cricket which was not one of the sports mentioned, we have received the below advice from the English Cricket Board, which details the use of our facilities.
We are working closely with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Welsh Government, Sport Wales and Sport England on providing further guidance on what this means specifically for the use of cricket clubs, their facilities and coaches. We are also looking at what future plans for both recreational cricket and cricket behind closed doors could look like, as we move to Step 2 and 3, and when the government advice allows.
As such all recreational cricket across England and Wales remains suspended until further notice, this includes practice/training, however we will endeavor to provide a further update as soon as possible.
Therefore the nets and club remain closed, until the update arrives which hopefully won’t be long. If the guidance allows training, nets or both we will then issue guidelines of how this can be done safely, taking into account social distancing and risk assessing all the factors of playing.
Thanks and as always keep safe
