Dear Members,
I hope this email finds you well and you’re already looking forward to the 2024 season.
As many of you will be aware, Mark Davison (Head of Junior Cricket) will be stepping down from his role at the end of the 2024 season. Mark has been instrumental in coordinating junior cricket at Leamington since 2003 and the section has grown substantially under his leadership over the years. Many of Mark’s junior cricketers have gone onto make debuts in adult teams in recent years, including current 1XI players Jimmy Hawkins and Tom Bate. We would like to thank Mark for his outstanding contribution to Leamington Cricket Club.
We understand that the junior section has changed substantially under Mark and the role in a volunteer capacity is too much for one individual; as such, moving forwards and into the 2024 season and as we continue to grow and strengthen this section, we are thrilled to announce the formation of a Junior Cricket Committee to further support and develop our talented young cricketers. The Junior Cricket committee will be made up of the following roles;
- Junior Cricket Talent Identification Lead
- Junior Cricket Coordinator
- Head of Junior Cricket (Head of Junior Cricket Committee)
Job descriptions for all 3 roles are attached.
Thanks to Mark continuing in 2024, it provides the opportunity for the new leadership to be in place the end of 2024 season to enable a smooth and gradual transition of responsibility to take place.
We believe that the success of our junior cricket program is crucial to the future of our club. If you are passionate about cricket, have experience working with young players, or are eager to contribute to the growth of our junior section, we encourage you to reach out personally to Kevin, Nathan or Mark for one of these roles.
