WALSALL v Leamington Cricket Club 2nd XI on Sat 26 Jun 2010 at 12.30
Match was Drawn 14 points
Match report
On a sweltering afternoon, Leamington won the toss and batted first on a green tinged wicket that offered some movement with the new ball. Wollaston and Swann departed early to leave old stager Dave Hawkes and young buck Mark Best to repair the damage. Together they put on 94 before Hawkes(38) tamely offered the bowler a return catch. However, Simon Magill(87) was in no mood to mess about and smashed the bowling to all corners and with Best(85) put on 130 in double quick time. A cameo 22 from Jack Hawkes enabled the score to reach 282-8.
Walsall started very much the same and lost 2 early wickets, however opener Harding stood firm and carried his bat all through the 50 overs for a superb 129*. Wickets fell to Faisal Khalid(3-59)& Jack Hawkes(2-64) but their efforts were in vain as Walsall batted out for a losing draw.
