Leamington Cricket Club 3rd XI v Overbury 1st XI on Sat 26 Jun 2010 at 1.30pm
Leamington Cricket Club Lost by 5 wkts
Match report
In a high scoring affair at Arlington Avenue the III's posted their highest score of the season batting first against Overbury. On a good deck Leamington amassed 282-7 with Colin Grant making 69 and Mark Davison fell 5 runs short of a century on 95. A good opening stand by Ainscow & Gill saw then score 35 and 22 respectivley. In reply Leamington started well restricting Overbury to 81 off the first 20 with Rob Grant and James Cowan bowling economically. Needing 160 off the last 15 the game looked out of reach for Overbury but a lusty 59 off not many balls by Hockey and 60 not out from skipper Brook saw Overbury home with an over to spare. Leamingtons last 10 overs went for a staggering 110 runs which saw the game turned on its head. Roll on next week with a bottom of the table clash with Warwick County Council.
