Match report Leamington 1st XI suffered a 7 wicket defeat against a strong Knowle and Dorridge side. Losing the toss for the first time this season, Leamington were put into bat and faced some very accurate new ball bowling with Mottram, in particular beating the bat several times. Despite this, Bailey and Phillips put on 61 for the first wicket before Phillips (29) was unfortunately run out at the non-strikers end. Bailey, in combination with Lewis (22) put on 70 for the second wicket to take the score to 131 before the latter was adjudged LBW to the excellent Mottram, who finished with 4-53 from 17 overs. Bailey eventually fell for a very well-compiled 76 but other than Young (26) the lower order were unable to capitalize on the excellent start and capitulated to 201 all out.

In reply, Knowle and Dorridge started very positively through Johnson and Smith as the pair put on 40 for the first wicket before Young removed Smith. However, Leamington were unable to apply the pressure required to stay in the game as too many four balls were bowled and let Knowle and Dorridge off the hook as Johnson (70) and Chishti (68*) scored their runs very aggressively and took Knowle and Dorridge to victory in 38.4 overs.
