Match report Leamington Cricket Club 1st XI went down by eight wickets to Kidderminster Victoria Cricket Club in what was a very disappointing result for the team.

After losing an hour due to rain, Leamington lost the toss and were put into bat in a match reduced to 46 overs aside. Leamington were soon struggling as they were reduced to 11-2 before the Lewis brothers put on 89 for the third wicket before Mark Lewis was adjudged LBW for 43. Tom went onto to complete a well-deserved 57 but other than Hopkins (21), Leamington offered little in terms of resistance. Leamington finished on 167-8 which was around thirty runs below par on a decent wicket. For Kidderminster, Pinner was the star of the show as he finished with 6-48 off 11 overs.

In reply, Kidderminster never looked in danger of reaching their target as Wood batted through the innings to score an excellent 107* to guide his team to a comfortable eight wicket victory. Leamington were guilty of bowling too many four balls as Wood and Kimberlin (36) got Kidderminster off to a flyer before Young had Kimberlin out LBW. There was some hope for Leamington when Pinner was caught behind off the bowling of Khalid but Wood increased his scoring rate and guided Kidderminster to an easy victory.

Leamington will be disappointed in the ease in which Kidderminster won and will be looking to get back on track away at Wellington next Saturday.
