Match report Leamington suffered a six wicket defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton on a day where the toss proved to be very important. Leamington were asked to bat on slow, slightly damp wicket against an experienced bowling attack. Despite this, Leamington moved on to 52 before Phillips fell for 30. When Bailey soon followed for 19, the rest of the order fell away at the hands of Worcestershire professional, Chris Russell (15-1-48-4) and overseas star, Bothma (14.5-4-55-4). Leamington were eventually all out for 167 as Hopkins (40) laid the foundations before some lower order hitting from Balac (17) and Talati (14) got Leamington up to a respectable total on a tricky wicket.

In reply, on a pitch that was showing signs of drying out, Wolverhampton, despite a nervous start, won comfortably by 6 wickets, mainly thanks to a superb unbeaten 68* from Patel. Wolverhampton started indifferently as Warner (14-2-43-3) removed the top three batsmen, including Worcestershire star, Moeen Ali, in a fine opening spell. But, unfortunately for Leamington this was not enough as Patel guided his team home with good support from Fell (20) and Bowyer (20*).
