Match report In a high-scoring match at Arlington Avenue, Knowle and Dorridge came away with a winning draw as Leamington maintain their mid-table Premier Division status.

On winning the toss, Knowle and Dorridge had no hesitation in electing to bat on what proved to be another excellent wicket at Arlington Avenue. Their decision to bat first was justified through former Warwickshire and Glamorgan professional, David Hemp, and current Warwickshire professional, Richard Johnson, as the pair raced to 158 in 30 overs before Johnson was bowled for an excellent 75 by Paul Best. During the innings there were a couple of rain breaks which briefly held up proceedings but despite losing Parker for 17, Hemp added 97 with Chishti (35*) for the third wicket as Knowle and Dorridge finished on a daunting 299-2 declared, in 50 overs. Hemp went on to compile a wonderful 149* and made full use of the excellent batting conditions.

In reply, Leamington required 258 in 43 overs due to the rain breaks for the winning draw but fell short on 219-6. The innings got off to an excellent start as David Bailey (71) and Alex Phillips (54) put on 130 in 24 overs for the first wicket to give the home side a chance of getting the winning draw. However, when both openers fell in quick succession, runs became harder to come by as Knowle and Dorridge took pace off the ball and bowled wicket to wicket. Luke Parker was the pick of the bowlers for the away side (10-1-32-3) and, despite the efforts of Mark Lewis (33) and Simon Magill (25*) towards the end of the innings, Leamington accepted a losing draw.
