Match report Leamington were, for the third successive home match, on the receiving end of a magnificent hundred from a First Class professional as they held on for a losing draw at home to Wellington.

Having won the toss, and hoping to make the best of the conditions, Leamington started well as Wellington were reduced to 43-2 as Faisal Khalid and Tom Lewis bowled the two openers. However, this was to be the only success for a while as Aucott (81*) and Northamptonshire player, Shafayat (140), put on 216 for the third wicket. Aucott anchored the innings while Shafayat produced a magnificent innings at the other end. It wasn't until Tom Lewis returned that Shafayat was caught on the boundary to end a brilliant innings. Lewis went on to finish with 12-0-50-3 as Wellington closed on 289-4.

In reply, Leamington started brightly reaching 184-4, mainly thank to a 95 run partnership for the fourth wicket between Mark Lewis (66) and Paul Best before Lewis was adjudged LBW to the impressive O'Connor (16-2-53-2). Despite the loss of Lewis, Leamington were still well in the hunt as Paul Best was taking the attack to Wellington bowlers. However, when he finally fell for 74, Wellington struck back as Shafayat (17-4-58-4) showed his worth to the Wellington side to pick up three quick wickets to reduce Leamington to 247-9. This left the last Leamington pair a nervous eight balls to block out for the losing draw, which they safely did.

Leamington have now slipped to tenth in the table, but are 25 points clear of Moseley.
