Match report Leamington came away from their Premier Division clash against Kidderminster Victoria Cricket Club with a losing draw.

At the start of the day, Kidderminster were just above the relegation zone, but played much better than their position would suggest. Leamington won the toss and elected to bowl on a damp wicket and despite tight early bowling from Tom Lewis and Tom Warner, Pardoe and Wood (38) put on 137 for the first wicket and took the attack to the Leamington bowlers. Pardoe and Pinner (38) then put on 68 for the second wicket as Kidderminster moved on to a very formidable total of 280-5. Pardoe, who has been opening the batting for Worcestershire in the County Championship this season, compiled an excellent 141* to give his side an excellent chance of a much needed victory. For Leamington, Tom Lewis (15-1-69-2) was the pick of the bowlers, while there were also two wickets for Tom Warwner.

In reply, Kidderminster bowled with a lot more control throughout the Leamington innings, as their experienced bowling attack made runs incredibly hard to come by and utilised the conditions better. Leamington slipped to 38-4 at the hands of Mansell (15-4-30-1) and Wright (12-4-28-2). However, Tom Lewis (55*) played the sensible knock Leamington required as, along with veteren Dave Hawkes (34) and Rob Williams (32*) the trio saw Leamington through to a losing draw, finishing on 164-5.

With only 11 points picked up during the bank holiday weekend, Leamington will be desperate to ensure they pick up a victory against Wellington next weekend as, despite sitting in seventh place, there are only 21 points between them and the relegation zone.
