MOSELEY v Leamington Cricket Club 2nd XI on Sat 28 May 2011 at 12.30
Match was Drawn 16 points
Match report
A run feast at Moseley ended in a winning draw for a very strong Leamington side. However, once again, the opposition batsmen were afforded too many 4 balls and the outcome was in doubt right up to and including the last over.
Leamingtons healthy total of 289-3 included a superb maiden League century for opener Jack Hawkes (129), Dave Hawkes (42), skipper James Uddin (58*) and first team captain Rob Williams (29*).
The Moseley reply was always ahead of the rate and it was only Gaurav Gandechas skillful bowling that kept Leamington in the hunt. The equation came down to 30 needed off 3 overs with 4 wickets in hand, 22 off 2 and 15 off the last Tom Warner over, still with 4 wickets intact. However 2 run-outs and a first baller for the no.10 meant that Moseley had to survive the last 2 balls to avoid defeat. This they did and a great game of cricket came to an exciting conclusion.
