Leamington Cricket Club 3rd XI v WINCHCOMBE on Sat 16 Jul 2011 at 1.30
Leamington Cricket Club Won 31 runs
Match report
A good all round performance saw the IIIs close the gap on leaders Long Itch to 4 points with a 31 run win over Winchcombe. Batting first Leamington recovered from 62-4 to 251-9 thanks a superb century from vetran all rounder David Lord who finished on 104 not out he was well supported by fellow vetran Rob Ainscow who scored 68.
In reply Leamingtons bowlers kept things tight which put pressure on the vistors who were always behind the run rate. Leg spinner Dexter Purser returned figure of 10-2-28-2 and was well supported by the youth of Somra 9-1-37-1 and Field 6-0-34-2 who bowled particulary well at the end of the innings which saw Winchcombe finish 220-8. Exceptional fielding saw Pardeep have a hand in 3 runs outs and take 2 catches. Next week sees the IIIs on the road against Chipping Campden
