Leamington Cricket Club 3rd XI v MORETON IN MARSH 1st XI on Sat 01 Sep 2012 at 13:30
Leamington Cricket Club Won 36 runs
Match report
A mid table clash for the last game of the season saw Leamington host Moreton in Marsh.
Batting first Leamington lost wickets at steady intervals with good contributions from Wayne Killian 39, Connor Grant 27, Matt Dale 25 and Toby Askin 31 saw Leamington post a competitive total of 180 all out on a slow wicket.
In reply 10 man Moreton lost another player at tea who decided to go home unexplained and had another man in hospital with a badly broken and dislocated finger sustained whilst fielding started well with the top 4 batters all reaching double figures. But the introduction of Wayne Killian saw him temper Moretons runs chase with fine figures of 9.4-3-28-6. He was again well supported by Nathan Credgington and young Matthew Davison.
A fine end to the season saw Leam secure 4th spot in what was a solid seasons performace. Who knows what might have happneded without the 7 abandoned games !!
