Match report Leamington made the long journey to Shrewsbury on a rare sunny day this season and elected to bat first on winning the toss on a dry used wicket which looked likely to deteriorate as the match went on. However, things didn't quite go to plan as Leach and Barnard picked up a wicket apiece with the new ball to leave Leamington on 16-2. Mark Best (35) and Tom Lewis (19) took the score to 53 before the introduction of off-spinner Rob Foster (9.1-0-20-6) turned the game on its head as the Leamington batsmen were unable to cope with the lavish turn in the wicket. Sam Cheshire (17) did his best to take Leamington to a competitive score but Foster's efforts resulted in Leamington struggling to 114 all out.

In reply, Leamington opted to open with Warwickshire professional Paul Best's spin bowling, and this decision paid dividends as Best returned the fine figures of 4-37 off 17 overs. However, despite Best's efforts, Leamington were unable to remove the excellent Bishop (52 not out) as he carried his bat to ensure his team recorded a vital victory.
