Walsall v Leamington Cricket Club 2nd XI on Sat 12 May 2012 at 12.30 pm
Leamington Cricket Club Won by 45 Runs

Match report A ramshackle Leamington side travelled to Walsall with only 10 men and a third captain in three matches, and came away with a surprise but richly deserved win.

Walsall elected to bowl first and soon made inroads into Leamington's top order. Captain Matt Goatley made 22, but the total was built around 40 from Gaz Strangwood, on his club debut. The tail wagged to some effect, and Leamington closed on 166 for 8, a decent total on a slow wicket.

Leamington's attack led by 15 year-old Will Field, soon gained the ascendancy. His 3 for 23 was the highlight as he bowled with venom on a docile track. He was supported well by Jim Gethins with 3 for 24, but Walsall were still in the game as Plant made 36. Once he went, Walsall folded as Jason Butler took 3 for 8 to clean up the tail, the home side closing on 121 All Out.
