Himley v Leamington Cricket Club 2nd XI on Sat 31 Aug 2013 at 12.30pm
Leamington Cricket Club Won by 16 Runs

Match report Leamington 2nd XI continued their strong performance towards the tail end of the season, with a third consecutive win, this time at Himley.

Batting first, Leamington were indebted, once again, to Richard Swann, who passed 50 for the sixth time in eleven innings. He made 52, and Ady Butler 64, as they added over a hundred for the second wicket. A flurry of shots from Jack Hawkes (26) at the death ensured Leam8ington reached tea on a competitive 221 – 8.

Himley made a promising start led by Bahle Mhlanga. His 63 was the cornerstone of the hosts’ response. Leamington’s bowlers kept chipping away, and when Mhlanga was dismissed by Jon Wigley, Leamington were in control. Despite a late charge from Arun Bhogal (31), Himley were always behind the rate, and they closed on 205 All Out. Two wickets for Tom Davison, who also effected a run out and made two catches.
