Elmley Castle v Leamington Cricket Club 3rd XI on Sat 31 May 2014 at 13.30
Leamington Cricket Club Lost by 8 wickets

Match report Leamington III travelled to Elmley Castle to play on a wicket that had been under water as recently as Thursday evening. They found batting on the soft, slow pitted surface very difficult, with wickets falling to a succession of looping catches as the ball bounced unpredictably. Honourable exceptions were James Cutts (24) who used his long stride to good effect and Tom Davison (18) and Phill Whitehead (16)who added 25 for the ninth wicket. Shortly afterwards Leamington were bowled out for 98 in just 32,2 of their reduced allocation of 34 overs. In their turn the majority of the Leamington bowlers were unable to find the right length to exploit the devil in the wicket and Simon Copper was happy to smash a sequence of short deliveries to all parts of the ground. As ever, Jagdeep Khunara returning respectable figures of 8-2-24-1. Elmley Castle romped home by 8 wickets, in just 17,3 overs.
