Match report Following their hard-fought win over leaders, Shipston, Leamington III travelled to Earlswood to take-on the reigning champions. After just 45 minutes and 14 overs Earlswood pushed their score past 100 and Leamington were facing a drubbing. At this point Lee Credgington joined Matt Sellars in the attack and they slowly gained a measure of control. Following them, the experienced pair of David Lord (3-25) and James Cowan further tightened the screw until two wickets in successive balls from Cowan closed in the innings in the 44th. over for 213. Leamington’s reply began at a measured pace, but always within touch of the required rate, until at 112-4, Lord (24*) joined the youthful James Williams. Lord’s thoughtful support ensured that Williams’s exuberant batting took full toll of a wilting Earlswood attack and with five overs to spare yet another crashing Williams boundary both won the match and brought up his own century.
