Match report For the second week running the experienced David Lord (43) piloted Leamington to a welcome win. The brothers Liam (68) and Wayne (25) Killian had taken the score to 122-1 so creating an excellent launch-pad from which to pursue the target of 187. But a spell of three wickets for twelve runs in just half a dozen overs gave Long Itchington a way back in to the match. From this point Lord, accompanied by colt Diggory Lynch, built a careful partnership which took the score to 181 before two more wickets were lost securing the final half dozen runs as the storm clouds rolled in from the woods. Fittingly the winning runs came as a delicately placed Lynch cut got through the ring of fielders and ran down to the pavilion steps and his cheering team-mates. The major part of the Long Itchington innings of 186 had been an 80 runs partnership between Alex Jack (53) and Tom Crosthwaite (31). The Leamington bowlers contributed 31 in wides! Leamington’s most successful bowler was Wayne Killian with 3-45 in his 10 overs. The remaining wickets were shared between all of the other six bowlers.
