Match report A fine batting performance from spa 4ths effectively ending the game as a contest reaching over 300 for the first time this season. Openers Ainscow and wilson put on 97 for the first wicket allowing Killian and Davidson to express themselves with the ball disappearing time and again into the gardens surrounding the Flavels ground. Davidson scored 72 and Killian 71 including 8 sixes.
Seven bowlers were used to try to prise out the welford batsmen and it took until the last over to finally take the last wicket. There were 2 wickets each for the youngsters Berwick and Mobberley, with the tireless killian taking 3. A fine run out of the danger batsman by Cameron Mitchell put the gloss on the performance. Old timer Shaun Williams carried out the final coup de grace with the penultimate ball.
