Leamington Cricket Club 4th XI v Claverdon on Sat 08 Aug 2015 at 13.30
Leamington Cricket Club Won By 45 runs
Match report
Leamington returned to more familiar territory after winning the toss and after careful consideration batted first against Claverdon, reaching 272 for 4 in their 45 overs. Wilson with 87 not out, Davidson with 47 and perennial Williams with 58 not out provided the backbone for the innings and giving Claverdon a formidable total to chase.
The away side set off like scalded cats reaching 100 from 21 overs losing only 1 wicket. Youngster Will Mobberley bowled a tidy 5 overs at the start before Davidson provided the inspiration and breakthrough taking 4 for 24 in his 10 overs and putting the brake on the Claverdon innings. Positive junior Ben Beresford put his hand up to bowl towards the end of the innings and was rewarded with 4 wickets to finish off and give Leamington a hard fought victory. Callum Dixon with 3 catches behind the stumps also made a significant contribution.
