Leamington Cricket Club Sunday XI v Corley A on Sun 10 May 2015 at 14.00
Leamington Cricket Club Won by 158 Runs
Match report
Leamington's Sunday XI got of the mark in the Arden Premier League with an ultimately comfortable win at home to Corley.
Batting first, Leamington's openers rode their luck with both Matt Dale (31) and Manpreet Gill (35) given early lives. Jon Wigley carried on from the previous day and knitted the innings together, with support from Mark Davison (28). Wigley moved to an unbeaten 101 in the last over as Leamington set an imposing 270 for 9 in 40 overs. Callum Laverey took 5 for 61.
In reply Corley got off to a quick start aided by some wayward bowling. Paul Rowe applied the brakes initially, and off-spinner Jum Gethins cut through the middle order with three wickets. That man Wigley got into the act with two cheap victims, and captain Steve Dyer mopped up the tail as Corley were bolwed out for 112 in the 26th over.
