Match report After 2 full seasons unbeaten in League cricket, the U11 team record was finally ended by a strong performance from local rivals Kenilworth Wardens

Batting first, Leamington started slowly but surely, with Jody Hollingsworth and Will Hawkins putting on 19 runs for the loss of 1 wicket. 2nd Pair Ben Killian and Hamish Richards putting on 13 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. 3rd pair Bertie Herd and James Pagan hits some good shots in scoring 33 runs, however the loss of 4 wickets reduced their contribution to 13. 4th Pair Sajan and Ted scored 18 runs for loss of 1 wicket, with final pair Tom and Yuvraj hitting some lusty blows in scoring 35 runs with the loss of 1 wicket. At the end of the 20 overs, the team score had reached 273 for 7, a score that was something the team could defend if they bowled well.

In reply, Kenilworth Wardens 1st pair scored 18 runs without loss, their 2nd pair scored 25 runs, but with a couple of wickets in consecutive balls for Sajan, along with another wicket, the score after 8 overs was 228 for 3. The 3rd pair batted exceptionally well, scoring a further 21 runs without loss, and the 4th pair took the team score to 258 for 6. The final pair knew what they had to do, and with a few loose balls bowled as the pressure started to tell, at the end of the 20 overs, wardens had reached 278 for 7. Bowling honours go to Sajan and Ted, with 2 wickets a piece, but with a couple of dropped catches and some missed fielding, the result was just taken away from Leamington.

With such a good historical record, all the boys were deflated with the result, hopefully next weeks game will result in a return to winning ways
