Match report Leamington traveled to table-topping Walsall and on losing the toss batted positively to post Walsall a challenging 283 to win.

Leamington lost Alex Phillips early but Mark Best (16) and Sam Cheshire (79) steadied the ship before Tom Lewis (50) played an excellent supporting role in a partnership of 83 with Cheshire who slayed the Walsall bowling on his way to a blistering 79 off 57 balls including six huge sixes. The rest of the Leamington order followed Cheshire's intent as Lee Hopkins (42), David Bailey (30) and Luke Radford (27) ensured Leamington finished on a very competitive 282. For Walsall, Bowker was the pick of the bowlers with 4-35 off 11 overs.

In reply, Dan McCarthy removed the dangerous Jack Manuel in 4th over of the innings but Walsall constantly took the attack to the Leamington bowlers as overseas professional Jonker (57) and Maxwell (37 off 22 balls) put on 72 runs for the second wicket. The introduction of Luke Radford (2-26) brought Leamington back into the game as the home side were reduced to 121-4. However, Byrne (87) and McChristie (38) calmed proceedings with an excellent partnership of 82 before Middleton (30*) saw his side home with 10 overs to spare such was the intent of the top order.

Leamington will be very disappointed not to have come away with more from the match having posted such an encouraging total and as result remain in the relegation zone, 41 points adrift of safety.
