Match report Leamington remain over forty points adrift at the foot of the Premier Division table after another frustrating day for the Arlington Avenue Club.

Having lost the toss, Knowle & Dorridge had no hesitation in bowling first, especially with rain forecast to arrive later on and got off to the perfect start as Alex Phillips was caught behind off an excellent delivery from Mottram, with the score on 9. Luke Radford (15) and Mark Best (34) laid the foundations for the innings as they took the score to 57 before Radford was bowled by Coley. Best soon followed but Tom Lewis (22) and Paul Best (73) looked to increase the run rate before a mix-up saw Lewis ran out with the score on 94. This started a collapse as David Bailey and Lee Hopkins soon followed to leave the score on 111-6 as Knowle and Dorridge applied some excellent pressure through spin duo Davidson (3-77) and Chishti (1-67). However, Leamington rallied through an excellent partnership of 93 for the seventh wicket between Best and Jason Young as the pair combined lusty blows with quick singles. When Best was out, Jabarkheil (17*) joined Young, who went on to make an excellent 57*, as the pair took the score to 237-7 after 53 overs when the rain came and the teams took an early tea. Having already lost 20 overs due to an earlier shower, the teams came back on at 6.40pm with the chance to play for bonus points with the game effectively abandoned due to time lost. After one ball, which went for three runs and to take Leamington to maximum batting points, both sides shook hands and called it a day.

Leamington will be left frustrated by the rain as, having got to 240, they feel more points were up for grabs than the 9 that they had to settle for.
