Match report A solid all round team performance helped the IIIs win the local derby against Warwick CC Staff.

Winning the toss and bowling first Leamington quickly removed both openers with skipper Dale defying gravity and logic to take a diving 1 handed catch at midwicket - the batsmen was very unlucky !!!!. Wickets continued to fall at regular intervals with young Matt Davison continuing his good form by bagging 3 wickets, Bopanna bowled with lively pace to grab 3 wickets and they were ably supported by Tom Davison and Asad Ullah. A stand of 60 by skipper Edwards and Gardener took the council to over 100 but both were dismissed by the flight and guile of Dales off spin who picked up 3 wickets also to dismiss the visitors for 154.

In reply Leamingtons openers Dave Hawkes and Joe Somra set a solid foundation by putting on 116 for the first wicket before Somra was dismissed for a well crafted 32. Hawkes was in imperious form and and finished with 76 not out which is a welcome return to form. Connor Grant also produced a bright cameo to finish the innings and was 25 not out.

Three wins on the spin now sets Leamington up well for the visit of Ashton next week.
