Match report Leamington's third string suffered a second defeat at the hands of table-toppers Catherine-de-Barnes.

With barely a fit frontline bowler to call on, Leamington tried seven different bowlers with varying degrees of success. Captain for the day Mark Davison performed well taking 2 for 37 (and demolishing a 12 foot section of boundary fence!) in his 10 overs and Joe Somra could be pleased with his 3 wickets. However Leamington's scourge of extras, in particular wides, boosted Catney's total by 36, as they took tea on 238 for 7.

Leamington were undaunted by this, with a strong batting line up hoping to take advantage of short boundaries on two sides. Indeed Rob Ainscow and James Cowan ensured a bright start passing fifty at a healthy rate. However their dismissal in successive overs heralded a procession of wickets, as Leamington's middle order failed to handle the part-time spin of Luke Hanlon. He took four wickets, to add to his earlier knock of 68. Only Connor Grant with 37 showed the requisite application, as Leamington careered to 149 All Out with 11 overs to play.
