Match report A familiar story for Leamington's second string, as they suffer a second defeat of the season at Moseley!

Leamington batted first on a good track and, once again, failed to take advantage of a good start. Opener Richard Swann continued his fine early season form, making 42, as did the returning Jim Gethins, but their dismissal heralded a mid-order collapse. Captain Jason Butler rallied the tail to some effect, making 38, whilst Dan McCarthy's 24*, ensured Leamington notched exactly 200 after their 50 overs. Moseley's attack shared the nine wickets to fall.

Whilst a competitive total, it appeared that Moseley ahd the upper-hand on a fine batting wicket and fast outfield. Leamington's youthful openers, Will Field and Paul Lawrence made early inroads, knocking over three of Moseley's top order in quick time. However, runs were flowing for Moseley, and Leamington were unable to stem the flow, despites using seven bowlers. Ali Awan's 62 was the lynch-pin of the Birmingham side's response and he found sufficient support to ensure Moseley crossed the winning line with some style. Two expensive wickets each for Field and Lawrence, and singles for Gethins and Butler.

Leamington now face an early season bottom of the table clash at home to Barnt Green on Saturday, looking for significant improvement in all departments.
