Leamington Cricket Club 2nd XI v Attock on Sat 05 Jul 2014 at 12.30
Leamington Cricket Club Won by 5 Wickets

Match report Two fine individual performances saw Leamington to an ultimately comfortable victory at home to Attock.

The Birmingham visitors made a strong start, thanks in part to Leamington's inability to bowl straight, and usual generous donation of extras. Captain Jason Butler remedied the situation, bowling accurate cutters, being rewarded with his second five -wicket haul of the season. Jim Gethins nipped out the last three batsmen, as Attock were dismissed for 224 on the stroke of tea.

The pitch was now showing signs of uneven bounce. David Hawkes shouldered arms to a ball that was far too straight with the expected consequence, and debutant Ross Briscoe, who had taken two sharp catches earlier, fell LBW to a shooter. Ollie Currill had dropped anchor however, playing a watchful innings. The tempo increased with Simon Magill at the crease, and his quickfire 60 put Leamington in the box seat. Cameos from Butler and Gethins supported Currill, and the young opener finished with a cultured, unbeaten 91, as Leamington sauntered to a 5 wicket win with 2 overs to spare.
