Leamington Cricket Club 2nd XI v Wolverhampton on Sat 12 Jul 2014 at 12.30
Leamington Cricket Club Lost by 5 Wickets
Match report
A limp display from Leamington Second XI saw them beaten at home by Wolverhampton. Despite losing an early wicket, Leamington made a good start through Ollie Currill and Max Webber. Currill's dismissal for 35 saw a flurry of wickets, as the middle order failed to give Aussie Webber the support he needed. Finally he was defeated in the flight by wily Alan Chapman, becoming one of three stumpings for Wolves 'keeper Jack Parr. Webber made 81, and a brief flurry from the tail, got Leamington to a below par 211 All Out. For Wolves, the persistent Todd Quiney took 4 for 64.
Webber made an early breakthrough with the ball, Jaswal becoming the first of four catches behind the sticks for Chris Calcott. Amritpal Singh took root and his 80, supported by his middle order saw Wolves coast towards Leamington's total. 24 not out from Chapman eased Wolves to 216 -5 with more than four overs to spare. Three wickets on a decent day for Webber.
