Stoneleigh v Leamington Cricket Club 4th XI on Sat 10 May 2014 at 13.30
Match was Abandoned Stoneleigh 11 pts, Leamington 8 pts
Match report
The two promoted sides from 2013, met at a blustry, if picturesque Stoneleigh on Saturday. Initially Leamington held the upper hand as Steve Axcell bowled a probing spell. However, a number of spilled chances of varying difficulty and inconsistent back up bowling, allowed Stoneleigh the wrest the intitiative and they set about building a challenging total. Phil Whitehead bowled a testing spell of leg-spin and Mark Reynolds took two very fine catches, as Stoneleigh closed on 197 - 6.
A break for rain reduced Leamington's target to 185 in 42 overs, and the match was intriguingly poised when the rain came for the final time with Leamington on 70 - 4, and Wayne Killian at the crease.
