Leamington Cricket Club 4th XI v Mickleton on Sat 04 May 2013 at 1.30pm
Leamington Cricket Club Won by 226 Runs
Match report
Leamington made a tremendous start with the demolition of 10-man Mickleton.
Batting first in a match reduced to 43 overs a side, Leamington amassed a daunting total, in the main due to an imperious century from James Cowan on his return to the game following a serious knee injury. He batted through making an unbeaten 152, a knock that included 18 4s and 2 6s. He was well supported by Billy Hallett with 62,and cameos from James Cutts (22*) and Matt Shelton (16), as Leamington closed on 272 - 4.
In response, Mickleton were unable to cope with Cutts' pace and bounce, and the 6'6" 15 year old, took 4 for 17. The evergreen Mark Ryan gained three cheap wickets, with a victim apiece for Dan Mills and Jujhar Johal, as Mickleton limped to 46 All Out in the 28th over.
